Finance Specialist

Our client is one of Australia’s largest manufacturers of specialist weighing equipment, producing bespoke designs for customers across many industries including, construction, mining, oil & Gas, Manufacturing. They have continued to see instrumental growth over the past few years leading them to increase their factory space and build out their teams to keep up with customer demand.

They now seek an experienced Finance Specialist to join their team. This role is based in the new office space – located in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, around 40 mins from the CBD.

This is a phenomenal role for an experienced financial controller, once proven in the business you will effectively lead the Company strategy and finance operations alongside the Head of Ops. if you’re seeking a new challenge to best use your skills, this could be it!

You should have great experience across managing business finance, including profitability of overall business performance as well as projects, you should be keen to drive new efficiencies in all areas of the Company. You should be well versed at allocating and receiving payments, allocating resources costs and revenues, as well as working with wider stakeholders for reporting. This organisation uses Reckon as their accounting system however you will also work alongside external accountants to help with reporting to the ATO and advise where necessary.

The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing or construction background where you are used to allocating costs and ensuring profitability on projects. They should also be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day company accounts
  • Assist with financial planning
  • Oversee Budget forecasting and cash flow management
  • Ensure government compliance in all tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years experience in the area
  • Proficiency with current financial software
  • Understanding of US GAAP
