GitHub & Application Solution Architect – NV1/2 Security Clearance

We’re partnering with a major client who is seeking an experienced GitHub and Application Solution Architect to lead modernisation and migration projects across Azure PaaS and GitHub Enterprise environments.
This role will suit someone with a strong background in application development, DevOps modernisation, and cloud migration — with a passion for designing secure, scalable, and efficient solutions in Azure.

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead and execute end-to-end migrations from Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise using GEI or equivalent tools.
•    Validate post-migration integrity — ensuring accuracy of repositories, issues, pull requests, and metadata.
•    Troubleshoot and resolve migration errors and coordinate with GitHub support and internal stakeholders where required.
•    Guide development teams through modernisation projects — migrating and optimising applications on Azure PaaS (App Service, Functions, Kubernetes Service, Container Instances).
•    Architect and configure application hosting environments for performance, security, and scalability.
•    Develop automation and validation scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Python.
•    Maintain detailed documentation for migration activities, validation, and remediation.
•    Collaborate with customer stakeholders and project managers to ensure smooth delivery of technical solutions.
•    Support application containerisation, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD processes using GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.

Skills & Experience
•    NV1/2 Security Clearance (mandatory).
•    Minimum 6 years’ application development experience (.NET, Java, NodeJS or Python).
•    Hands-on experience with Azure PaaS services including App Service, Functions, AKS and Containers.
•    Proven track record in Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise migrations.
•    Deep understanding of Git, branching strategies, repository management and CI/CD workflows.
•    Strong scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
•    Knowledge of APIs, Log Analytics, and cloud monitoring tools.
•    Exposure to large-scale source code repository migrations.
•    Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
•    Certifications in GitHub Foundations, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps highly regarded.
