IT Financial Management Lead Location: Hybrid – Canberra, ACT Contract start ASAP – 30th June 2027

We’re looking for an experienced IT Financial Management Lead to join a team focused on strategic IT governance and financial management. This role is critical in ensuring strong financial oversight across the IT division.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage and monitor IT budgets aligned with organisational priorities.
Prepare financial forecasts and lead the annual budget build and mid-year review processes.
Track and report IT expenditure, identifying risks and opportunities for cost optimisation.
Implement governance controls to ensure cost-effectiveness and value for money.
Leverage FinOps capabilities to manage cloud costs and maximise returns on digital investments.
Deliver financial presentations and analysis to senior executives and governance committees.
Consolidate and analyse financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Optimise licensing and maintenance fees through vendor consolidation and renegotiation.
Support procurement activities with financial insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with program finance teams and enabling groups to progress critical financial activities.
About You
Strong background in IT financial management, budgeting and forecasting.
Proven ability to implement governance frameworks and cost optimisation strategies.
Skilled in financial analysis, reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Experience with FinOps and cloud cost management highly desirable.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
