AI Cloud Engineer
Essential: Baseline Clearance

Duration: 12 months (with possible extension)
Location: CBD in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne
Hybrid working environment (after initial 2 weeks in the office)

We are seeking an experienced Senior AI Cloud Engineer with a background in software development to design, build and operate secure, scalable AI/ML and Generative AI platforms across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.

Key Skills

• 5+ years’ AI Engineering experience delivering enterprise AI/ML solutions.
• Expertise in Kubernetes, MLOps, Python, Linux, Docker/Podman and Platform Engineering.
• Experience with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, model serving, Hugging Face and AI agents.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, Ansible and Infrastructure as Code capability.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure AI services.
• Knowledge of security, governance, observability, FinOps and regulated environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop and support AI/ML platforms and cloud-native applications.
• Lead solution design, software development, deployment and operational support.
• Drive AI workload migrations, platform optimisation and automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, data and engineering teams to establish platform standards and governance.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide expert technical advice.
• Deliver secure-by-design solutions using reusable patterns and Infrastructure as Code.
• Contribute to project delivery, risk management, innovation and continuous improvement.

This role suits a hands-on engineer who can operate autonomously, influence technical outcomes, and deliver scalable AI solutions in a complex enterprise environment.
