Ideally based in Canberra – Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearence 
 

We’re supporting a major Federal Government client and are seeking experienced Exchange System Administrators (APS6 equivalent) to manage, maintain and modernise a large-scale hybrid Exchange environment. These are contract roles with long-term extensions and the opportunity to work within a high-performing ICT Operations Branch.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in specialists who can take ownership of complex messaging environments, lead migration activities, and troubleshoot across the full Microsoft communication stack.

Key Skills & Experience

• Expert knowledge of Exchange Server, Exchange Online, and hybrid Exchange deployments
• Experience with cross-forest migrations, legacy Exchange upgrades, and mail data migration to Exchange Online
• Strong troubleshooting capability across mail flow, gateway technologies, and hybrid connectivity
• High-level understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DFS, and Group Policy (including AGPM)
• Experience working with Australian Government cyber security frameworks (ISM, Essential 8, ACSC hardening)
• Strong documentation skills — design docs, as-built, migration plans, DR plans, decommissioning plans

Desirable Experience

• Arctera Enterprise Vault
• Microsoft Purview Information Protection (MPIP)
• Microsoft Intune and mobile device management
• Broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem experience

• Australian Citizenship
• Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearance (mandatory at commencement)
• Onsite in Canberra (WFH only case-by-case and limited)
