Long-Term Contract Opportunity – Melbourne based – Must be able to obtain Baseline

Our federal government client is seeking multiple IT Project Managers (EL1 level) to support a major digital delivery program, working across core operational systems and broader technology portfolios. These roles deliver complex ICT initiatives spanning enterprise platforms, data, applications, infrastructure, and specialised technology streams.

The environment is large, regulated, multi-vendor, and delivery driven. Project Managers are responsible for full lifecycle delivery across planning, design, implementation, transition, and review.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver assigned ICT projects in line with enterprise governance and Delivery Enablement processes.
• Manage scope, schedules, documentation, risks, issues, dependencies, and quality.
• Coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and delivery partners in a matrix environment.
• Lead end-to-end lifecycle activities from initiation through transition and closure.
• Maintain financial tracking, reporting, and procurement of hardware, software, and services.
• Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders and ensure clear communication.
• Support onboarding, knowledge transfer, and change management.
• Ensure WHS compliance and alignment with APS values and conduct.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience delivering software and technology projects in complex, multi-vendor environments.
• Certification in at least one project management methodology (PRINCE2, PMBOK, Agile).
• Experience managing large delivery teams and partner organisations.
• Strong customer focus and ability to work within established team practices.
• Familiarity with enterprise project/work management tools (Microsoft Project, Jira).

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of PRINCE2, ITIL, or SIAM.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capability.
• Experience in large, regulated organisations (public sector preferred).
• Experience with Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, GitLab.
• Understanding of government procurement, finance, and EPMO processes.
