Project Manager | Flood Warning Systems

A federal government programme delivering an upgraded flood forecasting and warning system for Southeast Queensland needs an experienced PM to take it home.

You’ll be managing delivery end-to-end: working across Bureau teams, external agencies, and delivery partners. Small team underneath you, senior stakeholders above, and a hard deadline that matters.

What the job involves:

  • Delivery against scope, budget, schedule and quality — the full picture
  • Building and managing project artefacts from the ground up
  • Risk and change control, kept visible and current
  • Managing external service providers and delivery partners
  • Broad stakeholder engagement across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Monthly reporting to QRA and Bureau governance
  • Managing two direct reports

What you need:

  • 6+ years project delivery experience across establishment and delivery phases
  • Solid fundamentals – scope, budget, risk, schedule, change control
  • Comfortable working across both plan-driven and agile approaches
  • Strong stakeholder and partner engagement skills
  • Ability to obtain Australian Baseline clearance
  • Current Australian driver’s licence

Background in flood risk management, hydrological modelling or flood forecasting is a strong advantage.
