About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a global consulting business, seeking an experienced AWS Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with Level 4 cloud engineering expertise. You’ll be responsible to a major client within the financial services industry and be a critical liaison between the client and an offshore engineering team, ensuring seamless delivery of cloud-native solutions to meet customer needs and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and offshore engineering teams, translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks.
Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud-native architectures for mission-critical financial systems.
Drive site reliability engineering practices, including automation, observability, and incident response.
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for secure and efficient deployments.
Monitor and optimize system performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
Ensure compliance with financial industry security standards and regulatory requirements.
Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews.
Collaborate with client stakeholders to prioritize deliverables, manage expectations, and ensure offshore teams deliver on time and to specification.
Required Skills & Experience
Level 4 AWS expertise: Advanced knowledge of EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, IAM, KMS.
Strong experience in SRE principles and DevOps practices.
Proven ability to manage offshore teams and act as a technical and communication bridge.
Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.
Expertise in monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
Familiarity with financial services compliance and security best practices.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Flexibility to work with an APAC team where standard work hours may go beyond the standard working day.
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
Experience in highly regulated environments (banking, insurance, financial services).
Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and high availability architectures.
