About the Role
We are recruiting on behalf of a global consulting business, seeking an experienced AWS Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with Level 4 cloud engineering expertise. You’ll be responsible to a major client within the financial services industry and be a critical liaison between the client and an offshore engineering team, ensuring seamless delivery of cloud-native solutions to meet customer needs and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and offshore engineering teams, translating business requirements into actionable technical tasks.

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud-native architectures for mission-critical financial systems.

  • Drive site reliability engineering practices, including automation, observability, and incident response.

  • Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.

  • Implement CI/CD pipelines for secure and efficient deployments.

  • Monitor and optimize system performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Grafana.

  • Ensure compliance with financial industry security standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and postmortem reviews.

  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to prioritize deliverables, manage expectations, and ensure offshore teams deliver on time and to specification.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Level 4 AWS expertise: Advanced knowledge of EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, IAM, KMS.

  • Strong experience in SRE principles and DevOps practices.

  • Proven ability to manage offshore teams and act as a technical and communication bridge.

  • Proficiency in Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration.

  • Expertise in monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.

  • Familiarity with financial services compliance and security best practices.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Flexibility to work with an APAC team where standard work hours may go beyond the standard working day.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.

  • Experience in highly regulated environments (banking, insurance, financial services).

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and high availability architectures.
