Senior IAM Engineer – Contract | Melbourne | Hybrid

We are working with a leading digital consultancy that is expanding its national Identity and Access Management (IAM) capability. They are looking for a senior technical leader who can design, deliver and optimise enterprise-grade identity solutions across complex environments.

You will work with a high-performing team of IAM specialists across Australia and global offices, providing hands-on engineering depth while leading delivery across Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) programs.

This role sits at the intersection of engineering, delivery and architecture — ideal for someone who wants to influence strategy while staying close to the technology.

What You’ll Do

• Lead IAM projects end-to-end with minimal supervision.
• Engineer and implement solutions across IGA, IAM and PAM platforms (Saviynt, BeyondTrust).
• Design authentication and authorisation using Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Single Sign-On (SSO), OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) and JSON Web Tokens (JWT).
• Work with developers, analysts and stakeholders to define scope and requirements.
• Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
• Support integration across Active Directory (AD), Azure Active Directory (Azure AD), Azure MFA, Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and SSO patterns.
• Troubleshoot complex identity issues and deliver scalable solutions.
• Stay across emerging IAM trends and apply them to client environments.

• Proven experience delivering IAM projects in enterprise environments.
• Strong technical depth across IAM, IGA and PAM.
• Hands-on experience with Saviynt, BeyondTrust, SailPoint or CyberArk.
• Deep understanding of MFA, SSO, OAuth, OIDC, SAML and JWT.
• Strong knowledge of AD, Azure AD and federation services.
• Ability to translate technical detail into clear outcomes for cross-functional teams.
• Proactive problem-solver with a focus on secure, scalable identity design.
