Based in Canberra – Ability to obtain Baseline Security Clearence

We’re supporting a major Federal Government client and are seeking experienced Senior Storage Infrastructure Engineers (EL1 equivalent) to join the ICT Operations Branch. These are contract roles with long-term extensions, working onsite in Canberra within a high-performing infrastructure team responsible for the department’s data centres, storage platforms and virtualisation environment.

What We’re Looking For

We’re interested in senior engineers who can design, deploy and manage enterprise-grade storage platforms, support complex environments, and help shape the future direction of the department’s storage and data capability.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience designing, administering, tuning and troubleshooting one or more enterprise storage platforms:
  • HPE 3PAR / Primera / Alletra
  • NetApp E-Series
  • Dell Data Domain
  • Brocade Fabric Switches / SANnav
  • Scality Artesca
• Experience deploying, configuring and managing SAN switches
• Ability to produce high-quality design, build and operations documentation
• Strong communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders and coaching junior staff
• Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication
• Ability to work in large, complex ICT environments with high operational expectations

Role Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure and manage enterprise storage systems across physical and virtual layers
• Manage SAN switching and related infrastructure
• Tune and optimise storage performance
• Contribute to the future direction of storage and data platforms
• Produce design documents, build guides, operational runbooks and handover materials
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the team
• Provide after-hours on-call support as required

Requirements

• Australian Citizenship
• Baseline Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)
• Onsite in Canberra (role is not suitable for other locations)
