salary range:

Technical Security Advisor
Sydney and Perth

I’m partnering with a global cybersecurity vendor that’s reshaping how organisations approach protection in the AI era. With continued growth across Australia, they’re expanding their Technical Advisor team to support key enterprise customers.

As a Customer Success Technical Advisor, you’ll act as the strategic technical linchpin for a portfolio of enterprise accounts. This is not a ticket-driven role. In this role you will sit at the intersection of security architecture, operations, and strategy. You’ll be trusted to lead conversations, shape roadmaps, and operate as a long-term advisor—not just a problem solver.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategic Technical Advocacy
•    Own the technical relationship post-deployment, focusing on outcomes over incidents
•    Contribute technical milestones into broader customer success plans
•    Lead architecture reviews and configuration audits
•    Translate complex security requirements into clear, actionable strategies

Proactive Operations & Enablement
•    Guide structured onboarding and deployments to accelerate time-to-value
•    Deliver tailored workshops and best-practice sessions for SOC and SIEM teams
•    Provide senior technical leadership during critical security events
•    Identify risks and optimisation opportunities before they become issues

Operational Excellence & Leadership
•    Perform deep root-cause analysis and recommend long-term preventative solutions
•    Act as a conduit between customers and internal engineering and product teams
•    Maintain accurate account health documentation and operational insights
•    Serve as a trusted advisor to both technical and executive stakeholders

What We’re Looking For
•    10+ years in cybersecurity, infrastructure, systems engineering, or technical consulting
•    Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and SOC/SIEM operations
•    Experience across endpoint, network, and cloud security
•    Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Linux (Solaris a plus), and AWS/Azure/GCP
•    Confident communicator able to translate technical risk into business terms
•    Highly organised, analytical, and outcome-focused mindset

Nice to have
•    Security or cloud certifications (CISSP, CCNA/CCNP, TCAP, TSCE, AWS/Azure/GCP)
•    Enterprise or managed security environment experience
•    Exposure to AI-driven or XDR-based platforms
